The saturated shades and organic patterns are rewarded at Michel Saison’s 700 square feet apartment. Sion, who grew up in New York, visited the interior design school in Los Angeles on the west coast and adapted easily to a small life. By playing with scale, color, texture, she turned her small apartment into a chic and stylish urban retreat.
I was surprised at the boldness of New York, but Sison brought a baby grand piano into her petite apartment. She played the piano since I was young, thinking of a career in music before I fall in love with design.
“The length of the room was the most difficult when trying to set the place to put the piano,” she says. The mirrored wall reflects the strong and solid line of the piano and visually makes the room longer.
