Mark the placement of shelves along the stringers with vertical lines and a small horizontal line for where the bottom of the shelf will sit. These vertical lines help you align L-shaped brackets correctly on the stringers while working in a slightly awkward space. Attach brackets to both studs and stringers with 1 1/2 inch wood screws.
