The existing layout consists of two rooms and a small bathroom. There was no suitable kitchen, just a small fridge. That alone is not a big deal. In the main places of the West Village, they were put on the stairs of the place to eat homeowners. However, in order to live on a unit for a long term, she felt that she needed the proper cooking space.
Chen took up space on the stud and the rafter and reconstructed it from there. One wall of the living space shown here contains deforming components. The right part is gray, it is stained white. The left is a white lacquer and contains several slide-out components that fill in the previous crawl space.
The custom pull-down bed with Hafele’s hardware has a pink satin lacquer and a headboard wrapped in light blue mohair. The door has a bit of pivot and pocket inside, but it provides a little privacy from other places in the house.
